Tests

The experimental validation of the technology Motor Notatus It is structured around an instrumented test bench (TRL 5), aimed at testing the hydrostatic behaviour, the tightness of the dynamic seals and the actual volumetric containment rate in continuous closed-loop operation.

Objectives of the Validation Phase (TRL 5)

  • Empirical verification of the flow reduction factor (K = 9,16) under nominal pressure regimes (up to 400 bar).
  • Monitoring of tightness and friction in the telescopic segments and the emerging plunger during reciprocating cycles.
  • Evaluation of the hydropneumatic accumulator transient response in the static start-up phase.
  • Measurement of the thermal stability of the fluid under continuous reuse conditions.

Test Bench Configuration and Instrumentation

The testing system integrates high-frequency piezoresistive pressure sensors, mass flow meters and linear position transducers coupled to the moving cylinder head:

  • Primary Pressurisation Unit: pressure-compensated variable-displacement supply pump.
  • Quick Start Module: Nitrogen-precharged piston accumulator, controlled by an ultra-fast response solenoid valve.
  • Data Acquisition: Continuous pressure recording in a conical chamber, net injected volume (Vtiny) and torque transmitted to the crankshaft.
Detailed technical reports, complete dynamometer curves and test telemetry are periodically incorporated as scheduled test series are concluded.
